Dwight Edward Jones, 63, beloved husband, father, son and brother, sadly and unexpectedly left our world on May 26th, 2025, at his home in San Antonio, Texas, after a life richly lived in service and kindness.
Dwight was born on May 16th, 1962, in San Angelo, Texas. Born to Walter P. and Josephine Jones, he was the youngest of four siblings.
Dwight graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 1984 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He then went on to get his Masters Degree in Business Administration from Angelo State University in 1987. Dwight was a valued employee at Capital Group for 28 years, highly respected by colleagues, many of whom also became close friends. His talent, work-ethic, and generosity to his co-workers enhanced both his own career and the work lives of those around him.
He married the love of his life, Karen, on August 7th, 1993. They shared an unbreakable bond, one that was admired as a symbol of joy, commitment, and shared values. Together, they raised two daughters, Brianna and Brooke. Dwight was a beacon of light, shining on everyone who knew him. Known for going above and beyond for everyone around him, he consistently put the needs and comfort of others before his own. He also had an infectious sense of humor. It was impossible to be in Dwight’s company for any length of time and not share a hearty laugh with him. His smile was contagious and brought more smiles with it. Dwight was unsurpassed in his passion for his beloved Texas Longhorns. Anyone who knew him knew he bled burnt orange, and we will continue the Longhorn pride in his honor. He also had a strong respect for WW2 history, as he and Karen had a trip planned to Paris and Normandy for April of 2026 to visit the historic sites.
Dwight was preceded in death by his parents Josephine and Walter P. Jones, his two brothers Walter Jr. and Eddie Jones, and his stepbrother Donald Mason. Survivors include his Wife Karen; Daughters Brianna and Brooke; Grandchildren Mi’yah, Maverick, Malakai, Mortakaii, & Vienna; Brothers James & Wife Sandra, Edward & Wife Missy; Brother-In-Laws: Rhett & John; Sister-In-Laws: Poppy & Wife Cynthia & Jennifer; Nieces Lacee, Skylar, Reese, Raegan & Ruby; Nephews Rylan, James & Jett; and a host of other relatives and friends.
