To Wayne's famliy, 
 You don't recall me but I first met Wayne around 1987 when he was at Diamond Shamrock and he hired me to defend the company in a number of enviromental cases. He was always a consumate professional but he never acted full of himself as many in our field do. He was so bright and fun to work with. He sat with me during a month long trial in Ft. Collins,Colorado around 1988 or so and he insight was invaluable in securing a great outcome. I only just heard of his passing and wanted to reach out to you with my words and prayers. Wayne's greatest love always was you, his family and I know you must have felt that love. If any of you ever want to hear any old stories about Wayne or just talk about what a great person he was, please just drop me a note. God bless you all.

I spent a number of very good years working with Wayne at Diamond Shamrock in the late 1980's and early 1990's. I also enjoyed biking with him during that time. He was a fine attorney and a good person. I was shocked and saddened to learn of his death. My sincere condolences to Melissa and the family.

Always thought of him as the smartest lawyer ever lived. He was extremely intelligent and caring. To the family - may your memories provide comfort during the difficult times.

Melissa- Our family was very touched by the messages you and your step-sons gave. Deacon Pat was very correct when he gave the analogy of "it's a wonderful life." There's a Randy Travis song called " 3 wooden crosses" and it says-- "you see it's not what you take when you leave this world behind you, it's what you leave behind you when you go." Wayne left quite a legacy. You must be very proud!

My deepest condolences to your family. There are many people who would not take the time to do good for other people. Knowing that you were training to ride the MS150 tells me that you cared for other human beings, my brother will be riding in that ride and I know he will be thinking about you.

Mrs. Campbell, Neither you nor your family know me, but I must express to you my sincerest and heartfelt sympathy for your loss. My husband also died suddenly in June. I can thus truly understand the ache in your heart and will pray for you.

I graduated with Wayne from McGregor ISD in 1968. I am so sorry for your loss. I have fond memories of my high school days and Wayne was & still is wrapped in those memories. You are in my thoughts & prayers.

I just wanted to offer my thoughts and prayers to Wayne's family. Wayne was in my graduating class at McGregor High School. I remember Wayne as being a quiet, but hardworking guy on many class/school projects. Always there till the project was finished to the best of our abilities at the time. Wayne and I were roomates at UT in 1969. Neither one of us knew anybody down there. If not for him, I probably wouldn't have made it. He helped me out a great deal. He was one of the smartest people I have ever known. I knew he would be a great lawyer when he argued with a prof of mine about one of my grades and convinced him to give me a B instead of a C. He represented me because I had to go to work. He was a good friend to me and I'm sure he's been a good friend to many other people over the years. I am so very sorry for your tragic loss.

Dear Melissa and family, We want to express our deepest sympathies to each of you at the great loss of Wayne. It is clear that he has has left quite a legacy with five such fine boys. I had the pleasure of working with Wayne at Diamond Shamrock for many years. I especially remember his assistance when he was assigned to NAI and I was trying to figure out pay telephone rules and regulations as accounting manager for the Diamond Shamrock stores. I have nothing but respect and admiration for Wayne. Although we have lost touch over the years, I can see that he is survived by a close-knit and loving family. I wish I could leave such a legacy. I was a close friend of Wayne's sister, Judy, and the family while growing up in McGregor, Texas. Wayne was always an example of leadership, determination and integrity. He will be missed.

Not often am I emotionally touched enough to want to express my condolences to someone I have never seen or met before, but the newspaper article captured my attention and was very saddened reading about Mr Campbell's unfortunate mishap which led to his passing. I do not know if Wayne knew someone effected with MS ? but I am grateful to anyone who supports a foundation that will make my life better. I am a 30 year old outdoor fanatic, and I have MS. The knowledge that my life may not be adversely affected, do to the millions of dollars raised by gracious people such as Wayne, makes ever day brighter. My Fathers youngest sister, my namesake, is 42 and has suffered from MS since she was my age. The cause Wayne lost his life supporting will ensure that I do not suffer as my Aunt does every day. I thank you ? I thank Wayne ? and know that my heart goes out your family.

I did not know Mr. Campbell but I shared his love of cycling and his tragic death reminds all cyclists of the risks we take when we clip into our pedals and start off on a ride. I want to wish the family and friends of Mr. Campbell my deepest sympathies and hope that memories of your father, husband, son & friend grow stronger as the pain of his death grows dimmer.

Waybe Campbell was devoted to his children. He once said his boys were more important to him than money or career. He loved them very much.
