

He graduated from Alamo Heights High School in 1931 and the University of Texas in 1937. He worked at City Public Service as an accountant and an executive for 41 years. He
and Jerry, his wife of 62 years, spent their retirement traveling
with friends in their Airstream trailer.
Earl served Methodist Hospital as
a volunteer for nearly 20 years. He was an active leader in Alamo Heights
United Methodist Church, following in his parents' footsteps. Earl served 30 years on the church's Board of Trustees, chaired its Administrative Board, and helped write a history of his church. Earl was a longtime member of the Kum Dublers Class.The church recently honored both Earl and Jerry with a special tribute for their long service.
Earl is survived by his sister, Lucile Cowles of Houston, his loving wife, three children--son John and his wife Margaret of Pasadena, CA; son Jim and his wife Carol of San Antonio; daughter Peggy Gonder and her husband John of Denver--and grandson Jeffrey Gonder of State College, PA.
