

Earnest Leroy Ethridge, age 79, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 28, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on July 18, 1944, to Leo Thomas Ethridge and Anna Elnora Craft in Rural, Missouri. He graduated from Chanute High School in Chanute, Kansas in 1963. He entered the United States Air Force on May 29, 1963, where he served until his retired-on August 31, 1985. After serving twenty-two years Leroy settled in San Antonio, Texas.
As a Vietnam Era Veteran, Leroy served numerous oversea tours, he was stationed in Ubon AB, Thailand, Misawa AB, Japan, Osan AB, Korea. His state side tours included Arnold, AFB Tennessee, McClennan AFB, California and Kelly AFB, Texas.
Leroy military awards include the Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal w/ 1 Oak Leaf Cluster, and Vietnam Service Medal w/ 7 Bronze Stars, among many others.
Leroy was a very quiet and kind man; he was an avid reader with a passion for woodworking and car restoration.
He was preceded in death by his father Leo, mother Anna, and brother Floyd Ethridge. He is survived by his wife So Soon Ethridge; son, Terry Ethridge (Vanessa); daughter, Peggy Faison (Derek); grandchildren, Branden-Lee Conrad (Angelite), Derek Faison (Dawn), Robert Faison, Ranecia Faison, TeMira Ethridge (Tevin), Charles Faison, Catana Faison, Gabriel Ethridge; great-grandchildren, Presleigh Faison, Eliana Faison, Nova-Leigh Conrad, and Tyler Ford; as well as many other family and friends.
