Edgar Rafael Figueras-Mejias

Edgar Rafael Figueras Mejias, beloved son, brother and uncle, age 61, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on May 16, 2023. Ed was born on February 5, 1962, in San Juan, Puerto Rico to Rafael Figueras Tirado and Sara Mejias Figueras. He is preceded in death by his cherished mother, Sara Mejias Figueras.

Ed is survived by his father, Rafael Figueras Tirado; sister, Diantha Figueras Castillo; brother, Drek Figueras Mejias (wife, Dawn); nieces, Chulynda Castellanos (husband, Pat) and Alyssa Rudd (husband, Jesse); nephews, Timothy Castillo Figueras, Ian Castillo Figueras (wife, Denise) and Tristan Figueras; and 9 great nieces and nephews, Shailey, Hagen, Kelby, Zoey, Ayden, Alayna, Piper, Eric and Leo. His great loves were his dogs, Koa and Kai, who brought him joy and comfort for the past 6 years.

Ed’s career in database management spanned over 30 years including the past 16 years at Joint Base San Antonio for the Air Force Services Center where he was blessed with countless team members and management who were like a second family.
