

Edith Mae Pryor was born April 14, 1936 to the late Conrad Morris and the late Mary Ethel (Moody) Pleasants. Edith departed this life on Thursday March 5, 2015. She was preceded in death by her son Eric Cameron Pryor who passed on in 1959 and her step father the late James Pleasants in 1981. Edith leaves to cherish her memory husband of 58 years Willie Henry Pryor, Sr.; children: Willie, Jr.; Vicki; Kathy; Myra: Gregory and his wife Patty; David and his wife Daphne; Kelvin; Jason and his wife Josie. Edith truly loved children and she leaves behind 9 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. They are Ashlee; Nick; David; Lenore; Sidney; Trent; Iman; Jaydon; Simone and Olivia. She also leaves behind her brother-in-law James Pryor, cousin James Moody who was like a brother to her and his wife Verlene, cousins Missy Burrell and her sister Ida Mae, and good friends Viola, Pearl Smith and numerous relatives and friends in Virginia, Maryland, Washington DC. And South Carolina. Edith was born in 1936 in Lanexa, Virginia moved to Richmond, Virginia and attended grade school in Richmond. She graduated from Maggie L. Walker High School, class of 1954. She worked for 2 years in the Washington DC area in sales. Later she moved back to Richmond and she met SSgt Willie Pryor, Sr. They fell in love and were married at Moore Street Baptist Church in Richmond, Virginia. After being married they started their journey and family together in Albuquerque New Mexico. Later they were assigned to Medina AFB TX and thereafter other Air Force Bases in San Antonio. In all they have been residents of San Antonio the last 54 years. She loved being an Air Force wife. Edith loved life. Edith did not have any siblings but she loved her family and when she was young she always wanted to have a large family. Edith was an awesome cook, sewer and homemaker. She was known for her home cooked meals such as her southern fried chicken, potato salad and mouth-watery peach cobbler dessert. She loved to fellowship with family, picnics in the park, traveling, writing, to sing, dance and enjoyed watching TV games, comedy and drama shows. Her favorite hobby was on-line shopping. Edith had one last wish before departing her earthly life. She wanted to visit her place of birth in Lanexa, Virginia and her former hometown of Richmond, Virginia to see relatives and high school classmates one last time. Edith struggled with various health ailments but did not allow them to slow her down. She was an intelligent, vibrant, strong and delightful human being who will be truly missed by many family, friends, relatives and neighbors. Although she has passed on to be with her Lord and Savior, Edith would want her loved ones to continue living their beautiful lives, strive to be happy and look up to God for strength, hope and continued faith.
