Edna Aline Saunders

Edna Aline Lawson Saunders, born July 6, 1921, in San Antonio, TX, died on Friday, April 9th.

After graduating high school, she worked as a secretary for several years at Lloyd Electric Company before meeting her future husband, Robert Bob Saunders in 1940. As her husband, Bob, pursued a military career in the Air Force, she spent her adult life as a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. Aline was a longtime member of Western Hills Christian Church, where she was highly active in the choir. She is preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Robert Wallace Saunders; her parents, James Irvin Lawson and Aline Beatrice Hume Lawson; siblings Jessie Mae Allen and James Glenroy Lawson; and son-in-law Harry A. McBain, Jr. She is survived by her children: Margaret McBain, Dorothy Caprez Chip, Bill Saunders Laurie, and Barbara Jacoby Jeff; grandchildren Allan McBain Holly, Shana Saunders, Laura Caprez, William Saunders, Forrest Saunders, and Kevin Jacoby; and five great-grandchildren. Her family would like to thank the numerous doctors and nurses who cared for and comforted her in her final days: Dr. Jose Ortiz, Dr. Jose Font, Dr. Gary Songco, the 2nd floor nursing staff at Metropolitan Methodist Hospital, the nurses and staff at The Heights on Huebner, and Emily and and Oscar at Acuity.
