Eddie Anderson, 74, passed away in San Antonio Texas with his loving wife Bobbie Jean and two children Kimberly Marrin and Eddie Anderson III by his side holding his hands and praying with him as he went to Heaven to be with his Savior and rejoin with family and friends.
Eddie was born and raised on the South Side of San Antonio and always referred to himself as a South Sider. He proudly went to Mac Arthur H.S (Class of 65) where he met and then married his highschool sweetheart Bobbie Jean Spence. His fondest memory of that time (besides dating Bobbie) was buying his brand new Red 65 Oldsmobile 442! In 1968, after college, he joined the Airforce during the Vietnam war and was stationed in the Philippines at Clark AFB. He served his country proudly as an aircraft mechanic working mostly on C-130s. Eddie also played on the Clark AFB football team as the starting running back. During this difficult time he listened to the great 60s music from the base jukebox and in present day would shout out "Filipino Juke Box!" whenever any of those songs would play.
After the military he quickly worked his way up at the Circle K corporation as the Regional Area Manager. He was then selected to become the President and CEO of Sunnys Food Corporation where he helped recover and build a dying brand. Eddie achieved his success through great people skills and by embodying the idea of bringing others up with him. After years of success in the corporate world he decided to pursue his own entrepreneurial dreams including car restoration and engine building.
He was very proud of his business success. However, his greatest life achievement was the beautiful family he built. Eddie (Dad) was a much beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. His love for his wife Bobbie was deep and lasted 54 years. In his words, "One day at MAC an angel appeared and God gave her to me, what a life!" He was the biggest fan and supporter of his children and grandchildren. Leaving his kids with the final written message of: "U 2 are my life!". Whether cheering from the sidelines, offering sage guidance or just making everything more fun, he made sure we all enjoyed life! He was an amazing Grandpa, LOVED dearly by all 6 grandchildren. He lived a wonderful life and made ours more exciting with his creative and imaginative ways, leaving us with so many fond memories.
"We might as well have a GOOD time!"
He was an inspirational man focused on family and God. There are no words to express how much he will be missed by all of us!
