Born on August 28, 1973, in San Antonio, Texas, Edward lived a life defined by service, kindness, and unwavering loyalty—to his family, his community, and his beloved sports teams. A proud San Antonian, Edward gave back to his community in many ways, most notably through years of dedicated volunteer work at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, where he served as an umpire for the Catholic Youth Organization (CYO) alongside his father.
Edward had a deep love for sports and was a devoted fan of the Dallas Cowboys, San Antonio Spurs, and the Texas Longhorns—a passion rooted in his family's history, especially the pride he felt for his father's graduation from the University of Texas at Austin. Whether it was cheering on his teams or officiating games as a respected Little League umpire, Edward believed in the spirit of fair play, teamwork, and community.
For eight years, Edward served as a bus driver for Northside Independent School District, becoming a familiar and friendly face to countless students and parents. He took pride in his role, always going the extra mile to ensure the kids he transported felt safe, seen, and supported.
Those who knew Edward will remember him most for his heart. He never hesitated to help someone in need, no matter the circumstance. Whether it was lending a hand, offering a ride, or simply listening, Edward's generosity touched countless lives. His kindness was quiet but powerful, and his presence brought comfort and joy to everyone around him.
Edward leaves behind his mother, Aurora T Briseno; sisters, Lorraine and Isis Briseno; brothers, Arthur Jr. and Ronald Briseno and 10 nephews and nieces. He is reunited in Heaven with his father, Arthur G Briseno Sr. deceased July 20, 2024.
Edward Tietz Briseño leaves behind a legacy of compassion, service, and community spirit. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
