Ed was born February 11, 1943. He passed away on March 31, 2026, from complications of congestive heart failure. Ed always said “The Big Guy” would tap him on the shoulder when his time was done. Ed was born and raised in Baltimore, Maryland. He attended Gilman Preparatory School in Baltimore and then graduated from Pingry Day School in New Jersey.
After graduating from the University of Maryland, he began a career with Proctor and Gamble. He was sent to San Antonio Texas which he always said was his true home. He loved everything Texas. He met his soulmate, Laurie Muldoon, and married her in 1974. They were married for 51 years.
Ed wanted his own business and was able to buy J. Ross Boles Safes and Locks. He worked with a skilled sales force and team of locksmiths and was proud to provide support and security for businesses and homeowners across Texas. He had the business for 33 years before selling it and retiring.
Ed loved sports. He was a very accomplished tennis player for many years and then took up golf. He worked hard at golf and enjoyed the beautiful scenery and being with friends. He even had 3 holes in one which was amazing. Ed and Laurie were privileged to travel many places both home and abroad. They went to La Jolla, California for 22 straight summers and called it their home away from home. They saw the same families during this time and watched kids grow up and bring their kids to the area. They made lifelong friends.
Ed was an avid reader, and the day was not complete without the Wall Street Journal. He especially enjoyed this pastime in retirement.
Heartfelt thanks go out to Dr. Fernando Lopez and his wife Martha as well as Lori Billingsley for their wonderful care. A private memorial service will be held for the family.
