Edward had a heart of gold and a sense of humor larger than life. He once found the fountain of youth but didn't drink from it because he wasn't thirsty. He was given a second chance at life and lived it to the fullest; bar-b-queuing (Shuga Barrrz), traveling and mastering everything he set his mind to; he lived vicariously through himself. With many passions, his most cherished possessions were his wife, Sylvia "Honey Boo Boo" and children, Ruben "Baby", Kristal "Special K", and Nicole "Princess".
Edward was world-renowned for his humor and wit. As a member of ACTS, Knights of Columbus, he lived everyday by the word of the Lord.
He was preceded in death by, father, Edward R. Meza, Sr.; Grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Eliseo Meza.
Edward "Eddie" Meza, Jr., is survived by wife of 21 years, Sylvia Meza; son, Ruben Lopez (Allysa); daughters, Kristal Louise Meza (Adolfo), and Nicole Marie Meza; His mother, Mary Louise Meza; sister, Judith Meza; Grandparents, Jovita Cardenas and Louis (Elma) Cardenas; expecting Grandson in May 2019; nephews, nieces, godchildren, Mother-in-law; Andrea Reyes and immediate family - All whom loved him dearly and will never forget his tenacity, wit, charm, undying love and caring for others.
His departure was unexpected but left a mark on many hearts.
Don't Grieve for Me
Don't grieve for me, for I'm free
I'm following the path God laid for me
I took His hand when I heard His call,
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To laugh, to love, to work or play
Tasks left undone must stay that way;
I've found that peace at the close of day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembered joy,
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Ah yes, these things, I too, will miss.
Be not burdened with times of sorrow,
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow,
My life's been full, I savored much
Good friends, good times, a loved one's touch.
Perhaps my time seemed all too brief
Don't lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts and share with me,
God wanted me now, He has set me free.
