

Edward Poore or Ed age 67 passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday March 19th, 2021. Born on December 26,1953 in San Antonio, his parents are Ruth Ponce, and Roy Clayton Poore. Preceded in death by his mother Mrs. Ruth Ponce Poore, and his maternal grandparents Mr. Jose C. Ponce, and Mrs. Isabel (Chavela) Ponce. He will be be missed by his father Roy Poore , four children Edward A Poore, Phillip A Poore, Matthew B Poore, and Ruth M Poore Sias. His grandchildren Anthony C Partida, Joseph M Sias, Andrew J Sias, Abigail E Sias, and great granddaughter Rosemary E Partida. As well as his former wife and best friend Patricia Poore. Brothers David (Teresa) Poore, Micheal (Leisha Poore), and Daniel Poore. Not to mention numerous nieces, and nephews.
A proud Navy veteran Mr. Poore served two tours in Vietnam, the first tour being at the age of 17. By the time he was 21 years old, Edward had traveled the world four times. He was a proud American that stood in salute whenever the time called for it. After honorably leaving the military, he started his career with the Bexar County Sheriffs office in 1976, and would continue to protect the community until 2016, when he retired. Edward was also a member of Alamo Lodge #44, and Vice President of The Smoke&Ash cigar club. He enjoyed, his boat, his books, and telling his Navy and Deputy stories to anyone that would listen. He had numerous friends in the law enforcement community who will also miss his friendship. The family would like to send a special thank you to his best friend, and former BCSO partner Ronald Songer for his dedication, and unwavering friendship for so many years. While he is gone from sight, we will never stop thinking about him, and we will eagerly await our time to see him again.
Friends can start offering condolences at 4:00 pm with evening service at 6:00 pm.
Funeral services will take place on Monday April 26th 12pm and will depart for Fort Sam at 1pm with an arrival time of 1:45pm.
