

Edward R. Ramirez, a beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on March 2, 2025, at the age of 71 in San Antonio, Texas. Born to Joe E. Ramirez and Adelfa Ramirez on December 31, 1953, Edward was a man who lived life to the fullest, bringing joy and laughter to everyone he encountered.
Edward was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 49 years, Diana A. Ramirez, his parents, Joe E. Ramirez and Adelfa Ramirez, his brother Roger Ramirez, and his sister Carmen Yanez.
He is survived by his three devoted daughters, Monica (David), Debbie (Raul), and Katherine (Isaac), who were the light of his life. He was also deeply loved by his grandchildren: Julia, Emery, David, and Edward Aguirre, as well as his four great-grandchildren, who brought him immense joy.
Edward’s love for adventure, laughter, and family defined him. He had a passion for traveling across the United States, with Alaska being his favorite destination. A true prankster at heart, he had a gift for making people laugh and enjoyed sharing moments of fun and humor with those around him. Whether attending Christian concerts, Broadway plays, or spending time at flea markets, Edward’s zest for life was contagious. He also had a fondness for gambling, riding trains, and cherishing the simple moments with loved ones.
A man of great heart, Edward was known as the “best friend” to many. His warmth, kindness, and infectious laughter left a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him. His love for his family was unwavering, and he will be dearly missed by all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
Edward is also survived by his siblings: Dolores, Isabel, Adelfa, Virginia, Joe, Margarita, Robert, Greg, Don, and Beverly, who will carry on his memory with love and affection.
Edward's memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved, and he will forever be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend.
Rest in peace, Edward. You will always be remembered with love and laughter.
A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 9:00 PM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, located at 4411 Moana Drive, San Antonio, TX 78218. A Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 PM.
Family and friends are invited to meet for a Mass of the Resurrection on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at 10:00 AM, also at St. Thomas More Catholic Church. A Processional will follow to San Fernando Cemetery #2, located at 746 Castroville Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, for the Burial.
We kindly request all pallbearers to arrive by 9:30 AM on Wednesday, March 12, 2025.
