Edwin C Johnston

Ed loved God his family, his friends, and his country. He served in the Korean Conflict. He loved to play golf, cards, square dance, and travel with friends in a motor home.

Ed was the General Manager of New York Life Insurance Co. He loved all of his agents and enjoyed entertaining them and taking them on fishing trips to the coast. Ed was with New York Life from 1957-1985.

He was a member of Shearer Hills Baptist Church where he worshipped the Lord. He could pray the most beautiful prayers.

Ed graduated from North Texas University in Denton, Texas (1957) where he met his wife, Lou Johnston. They have been married for 64 years. Ed was a kind and loving husband, daddy, uncle, and friend. He was loved by so many and brought joy to everyone he met. He was also an eternal optimist.

Ed’s son, Carl Johnston passed away two months ago.

Ed is survived by his wife, Lou Johnston, daughter, Karen Johnston, two sisters, Charlotte Finch and Annette Dugan, many nieces and nephews, and two special cousins, Johnnie Beth and Butch Menton. We would like to thank Patricia and Cristain Budris and their family for Ed’s wonderful care this last year.

Funeral Service for Ed will be at Sunset Funeral Home, 1701 Austin Highway on Tuesday, March 15, 2022 at 2:00pm. Committal will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
