Edwin Loving

Edwin E. Loving, SMSgt, USAR (Ret.), 82, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away on May 13, 2025. He was born on September 17, 1942, in Greenville, Texas, to Earl and Carrie Loving. Edwin was a kind and generous man whose deep faith shaped every aspect of his life. He worshipped the Lord faithfully alongside his beloved wife, Lupe, and was a proud member of the Knights of Columbus at St. John Neumann Catholic Church.

He devoted more than 40 years to honorable service in the U.S. Army, Air Force, and Civil Service, working tirelessly to support and care for his family. His dedication extended far beyond his immediate loved ones, encompassing his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, each of whom he cherished deeply.

Edwin was dearly loved by all who knew him and held a special, lasting place in the hearts of his entire family.

Edwin met his beloved wife, Guadalupe, in Mexico, and they were married in 1966. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Carrie Loving, and his mother-in-law, Dolores.

He is survived by his wife, Guadalupe; his daughter, Sandra (and her husband, William Ditmars); his sisters, Barbara (and her husband, Flloyd Powell) and Debbie (and her husband, Doug Self); four grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 27th at St. John Neumann Catholic Church, 6680 Crestway Dr., San Antonio, Tx, 78239. Internment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery at 1pm, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, Tx, 78266
