Edwin B. Shapiro, 96, passed away peacefully September 20, 2021. He’s survived by his wife of 71 years, IdaRose, sister, Dorothy Jacobs, brother Albert Shapiro (Joanie), brother-in-law, Louis Belinsky(Cookie), daughters Marcy(Steve), Mindy, Stacy(Dick), 8 grandchildren and their spouses and a global group of great grandchildren. Family was his world; his nieces and nephews are blessings. Ed was a proud WWII veteran. He volunteered in his community, was a long time member of Agudas Achim Synagogue and worked 35 years as a Comptroller. He loved sports, dancing with his wife and was dill pickle maker extraordinaire! His grandchildren carry on the legacy of “Poppy’s Pickles “! In retirement, Ed was a founding member of the ROMEO’S lunch group (Retired Old Men Eating Out). He looked forward to Thursday lunches, socializing with treasured friends. Eddie/Dad/Poppy, a kind, funny, generous man with a zest for life! He leaves a lasting imprint of faith & optimism. Special thanks to caregivers Debbie & Liz, and the JCC Seniors Program.
