In loving memory of a 'Grand Lady' who always treated me like a son, growing up with Johnny in Mexico City. We'll miss you...

She was an integral part of the DeVotie family and we will all miss her. What I remember most of her was how she enjoyed life and how much fun we had with her. I am grateful that we had a nice visit in May of last year. Who would have guessed that both Johnny and Lita would be gone in such a short time. I count myself as one of the lucky ones to have been included in her life. Both Gary and I send our "pesamos".

My heartfelt condolances to Paul Deutz over the loss of his sister and also to all of Edwina's family for their loss.

Dear Edwina, Winston Churchill often used four adjectives in sequence when delivering his tributes and oratories to the British Parliament. How would one possibly define Edwina Deutz Marvin? I would humbly offer the following four adjectives...."elegant, warm, witty & wise." Mere words could not ever fully capture the rich fullness of your life and charming presence. A Lady who claimed the diverse fabric, culture and heritage of two countries, Mexico and The United States, you are truly the last vestige of the great "Grande Dames." I will long hold myriad fond memories of your holding court - and keeping in check - your vibrant and engaging family. Many an evening I loved walking up to your front door and seeing through the glass, your jovial dog "Cappy" ... excitedly popping up and down to greet yet another visitor of his beloved mistress. Your ever present warm and inviting hospitality -and the entertaining antics of Cappy - was deeply appreciated and enjoyed by one and all. It was indeed an honor and a pleasure to have spent time with you and your dear, fascinating family. May the good Lord hold and keep you. With deep affection and respect, Joyce Rice Jack

Although I'm not related, please accept my condolences on the loss of your mother. I would also like to share a few biblical thoughts with your family. Please remember that our creator Jehovah God embraces and comforts us when we are broken and crushed.2 Corinthians 1:3,4,It is also comforting to know that our Lord Jesus Christ will remember her and the pangs of death and mourning wil be done away with.
