

Efren R. Mancillas, born on October 11, 1948, in Caopas, Zacatecas, Mexico, to Leoncio Mancillas Moreno and Maria del Refugio Cervantes Rodriguez, entered into eternal rest on December 26, 2025, at the age of 77, in San Antonio, Texas.
Efren was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, Godfather, and friend. He lived a full and meaningful life. He cherished his wife and longtime dance partner. He had a wonderful smile, great sense of humor, and contagious laugh. He was dedicated to his family and was constantly helping others. He was hardworking and selfless. He loved to dance and did it with such passion and grace that everyone without a dance partner wanted a turn on the dance floor with him.
He was a dedicated employee for CPS Energy and formed many lifelong friendships. He took great pride in his work for 27 years before his retirement in 2009.
He is preceded in death by his siblings, Eulogio Mancillas, Maria Isabel Lopez, and Bertha Alicia Arias.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 plus years, Rachiel Mancillas; children, Sara De Leon (Domingo), Efren Mancillas Jr, Belinda Mancillas, and Vicky Mancillas; grandchildren, Tino and Rene Mancillas Corona; Olivia, Anthony and Vanessa De Leon; and Eli Joseph Mancillas; great grandson, Mateo Lavonne Corona. His surviving brothers are Francisco Mancillas, Armando Mancillas, Jose Luis Mancillas, and Rafael Mancillas; and sisters, Maria Leal and Rosa Dimas.
His other children are Efren Diaz Mancillas, Ernesto Diaz Mancillas and Miguel Diaz Mancillas; grandchildren Gustavo Oziel Mancillas, Adrianna de Jesus Mancillas, and Ana Jackelin Mancillas.
Efren was unforgettable, loved by many, and will be greatly missed. His memory will forever live in our thoughts and in our hearts. Although he is no longer with us in body, he is with us in spirit and is now at peace and rejoicing in the presence of the Lord and his beloved Virgen de Guadalupe.
A visitation will be held Tuesday, December 30, 2025, at 5:00PM to 10:00PM, with a funeral service at 7:00 PM at Funeraria del Ángel Treviño, 2525 Palo Alto Rd., San Antonio, TX 78211. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 10:00 AM at St. Claire Catholic Church with interment to follow at First Memorial Park Cemetery.
