Elena was born on December 20, 1927, in Beeville, Texas. She was the youngest child in her family and the last remaining member of her generation. Growing up surrounded by her siblings, she learned the importance of family, hard work, and caring for those around her, values she carried with her throughout her life and passed down to the generations that followed.
Elena dedicated many years of service working for the Northside Independent School District, where she worked as a custodian at Pease Middle School for 15 years. She took great pride in her work and was known for her strong work ethic, kindness, and warm spirit toward the students and staff she encountered each day.
Above all else, Elena’s greatest joy and purpose in life was her family. She was a loving and devoted mother whose strength, sacrifices, and unconditional love helped guide and support her children through life. She always placed her family first and gave of herself selflessly to ensure they were cared for and supported. Her love created a foundation that continues to live on through her children, grandchildren, and the many generations that follow.
Elena also found great happiness in her hobbies and the simple joys of life. She had a special talent for sewing and quilting, always searching for the perfect fabrics and pieces to bring her creations to life. Her quilts and sewing projects were not just crafts, they were expressions of love, patience, and creativity.
She also enjoyed gardening, tending to her plants with the same care she gave to her family, and she loved to dance whenever she had the chance. These passions brought her joy and allowed her to share special moments with those she loved.
She was preceded in death by her beloved sons, Guadalupe Roy Alaniz and Juventino Alaniz. She was also preceded in death by her brothers and sisters, Martin Garza, Prudencio Garza, Jesus Garza, Estella Garcia, Petra Garza, Carmen Cavazos, Josephina Rodriguez, and Guadalupe Piez.
Elena leaves behind a large and loving family who will forever cherish her memory. She is survived by her daughter, Juliana Cude. She was a proud grandmother to Maurice Alvarado, Sandra Gonzales, Denise Minor, Eric Alaniz, Phillip Alaniz, Jacob Alaniz, and Analisa Gonzales.
Her legacy continues through her growing family, including five grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, thirteen great-great-grandchildren, and one great-great-great-grandchild. Through each generation, her love, strength, and the values she lived by will continue to be carried forward.
Elena will be remembered for her gentle spirit, her devotion to family, her hardworking nature, and the warmth she shared with everyone around her. Though she will be deeply missed, the love she gave and the memories she created will live on forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
We extend our deepest gratitude to the pallbearers; Maurice Alvarado, Jerry Quintero, Joshua Quintero, Manuel Trevino, Michael Gonzalez and Tristian Gonzalez for the honor, care, and respect shown while laying our loved one to rest. Your support during this difficult time means more to our family than words can express.
