

Elinor Worthy Storbeck’s life peacefully drew to a close on Saturday, December 13, 2014. She was 90 years old. Elinor was happy to have had a long life filled with family, friends, love, laughter, and music. Elinor was born in Galveston, TX on June 3, 1924, to Elinor and Claude Worthy. As the youngest of five children she got the nickname of “Babe,” which stayed with her all of her life. Elinor was happily married to Johnny Storbeck for 43 years until his death. From 1950 to 1961, Elinor worked at the San Antonio City Hall as Assistant City Clerk. In 1972, Elinor and her beloved sister, Mary Jemeyson, received their Real Estate licenses and went to work for Helen Stangel Realty in Kirby.
Besides her husband, Elinor was preceded in death by her son Jim Storbeck; sister Mary Jemeyson; brothers Charles, Russell, and Claude Worthy; and step-daughter Bobbie Storbeck.
Elinor is survived by her sons Rusty Storbeck, Joe Storbeck, and Mike Storbeck; step-daughter Doris Giorda; her grandchildren Sonia Storbeck, Johnny Storbeck, Kelsey Storbeck, and Michael Ryan Storbeck; step-grandchildren Georgianne Gale, Buddy Gale, David Gale, Sheri Perry, Roger Liles, and Bobbie Jo Thompson.
Services will be at Sunset Funeral Home (1701 Austin Highway), Wednesday December 17; visitation will be at 11:00am followed by the service at 12:00pm. Interment will follow at San Fernando Cemetery #3.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) or Boysville (www.boysvilletexas.org).
