

Elisa Dietrich, 85, of San Antonio, TX passed away on May 24, 2016 at home surrounded by her family. Elisa was born on March 6, 1931 in Shiner, Texas. She was the daughter of Julio and Mercedes (Santos) Vasquez. She was preceded in death by her parents; Julio and Mercedes Vasquez, her loving husband; William G. Dietrich, three brothers; William Vasquez, Julius Vasquez, and Santiago Vasquez, two sisters; Beatrice Vasquez and Rose Moreno. Elisa is survived by one daughter Aurora Dietrich of San Antonio, Texas. One grandson, James Gonzales and his wife, Jackie of Floresville, TX. Two granddaughters, Bobbie Jean Martinez of San Antonio, TX and Carolyn Gonzales of San Antonio, TX., Eight great-grandchildren; Megan Gonzales; Mercedes Gonzales; Alexis Martinez and Britni Martinez; Noah Juarez, Evan Juarez; Seth Juarez and Liam Juarez. One great-great-grandson; Michael Cornman and numerous nieces and nephews. As a young adult she worked for Howard Persons in Gonzales, Texas creating floral arrangements. Later she moved to San Antonio, Texas with her mother and her daughter. There she began working for Juvenile Manufacturing making children's clothes. Eventually, she would work for Santone Manufacturing and after 25 years of service she retired from Levi's Strausss & Co. Elisa took great pride in her work, always holding herself to high standards. In 1984 she was chosen to lead the Levi Strauss group outfitting the Olympic participants. Her strength and diligence was and will continue to be admired by her family. She enjoyed gathering with her family and friends. Talking and laughing about growing up with her brothers and sisters. She enjoyed traveling with her daughter, "getting up and going" to various places. Her greatest treasures were all of her grandchildren. She was a great influence in their lives, simply by being there ALWAYS. Elisa's grandchildren were fortunate to have her in their lives and enjoy the loving and caring woman she was, never missing a celebration or moment. Elisa's life will be celebrated with services as follows under the direction of Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home on 226 Cupples Rd.: A visitation will begin on Sunday June 5, 2016 at 5:00pm with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. A funeral procession will depart the funeral home on Monday June 6, 2016 at 930 a.m. for a 11:00 am Mass at St Vincent De Paul Catholic Church. Interment to follow at Ft Sam Houston National Cemetery at 1:00 pm.
