It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Elizabeth Armstrong, who gracefully departed this world on June 3, 2023. Born in Glasgow, Scotland, she brought joy and love into the lives of many.
Elizabeth, known affectionately as "Dot," touched the hearts of all who knew her. She was a woman of immense strength, grace, and unwavering love. Widowed at the tender age of 42, she faced life’s challenges with resilience and a remarkable spirit. Throughout her 86 years on this earth, she exemplified compassion, generosity, and an unyielding dedication to her family. Her love for her Scottish heritage was apparent in every aspect of her life, as she delighted in sharing her traditions, stories, and cherished memories of her homeland.
As a mother, she poured her heart and soul into raising her three sons, Craig, Mark, and Stuart. She nurtured them with unconditional love, guiding them with wisdom and instilling in them values of integrity, kindness, and perseverance. Her daughters-in-law, Lana Armstrong, and Valerie Armstrong, were embraced as cherished members of the family, and Dot, loved them as her own.
Dot’s pride and joy were her four granddaughters, Alexandra Armstrong, Camryn Becerra, Natalie Naughton, and Tammy Sullivan, who brought boundless joy and laughter into her life. She cherished every moment spent with them, nurturing their dreams, and imparting the wisdom she had gained throughout her own life's journey. The birth of her great-granddaughter, Alivia Becerra, filled her heart with immeasurable happiness and love.
Dot’s love for life was infectious. She possessed an unwavering spirit of adventure, always seeking new experiences and treasuring the beauty in everyday moments. Her warm smile, laughter, and genuine kindness left an indelible impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In addition to her love for family, Dot approached life with an open heart and extended her love to friends, neighbors, and anyone who crossed her path, especially her closest friends- Martha Dingy, Barbara Lyon, and Loraine Stagner.
A celebration of Elizabeth's life will be held on Friday, June 16 at Sunset Memorial Park and Funeral Home at 1701 Austin Hwy, San Antonio, TX 78218. A visitation will be held at 9:30 am, followed by a memorial service at 10:00 am, with a reception immediately following. Friends and family are invited to gather, share stories, and honor her beautiful and vibrant spirit. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice.
