With open arms, God and his heavenly family welcomed Liz to heaven on May 31, 2025. She joined her family members that had proceeded her in death - Mother Eva P. Moczygemba Brysch, Father Edmund Daniel Brysch, Brothers Edmund Daniel Brysch Jr and Herman Gregory Brysch, Sister-in-law Gracie Brysch (Edmund's wife) and Brother-in-law Onufry Niestroy (Susan's husband).
The readers of this obituary are asked to pray for God to provide love, understanding and comfort to those Liz leaves behind including her dear Husband Mike R. Howard, Brother Bron Edmund Brysch, Sister Susan Niestroy, her many friends, many nieces and nephews not to mention her great nieces and great nephews whom she all loved dearly.
While her loss brings grief and sadness, the memories provide immortal happiness and peace.
This little girl who was born in the small town of Nixon, Texas was raised in the larger neighboring city of Poth, Texas. It was in that environment she developed her love and understanding of the value of family, morals and the education to prepare her for her remaining life in the big city of San Antonio.
Sharing an apartment with what became lifelong friends, Carolyn Boyce and Sylvia Rodriguez, she began her professional career at USAA that spanned four decades. Her advancement from an EAM card operator to a Director of Financial Systems was testimony to her professional achievement and drive. A firm believer in Women's Rights, she nurtured female coworkers and family members to become the individuals they aspire to be and when possible, gave advice and opportunity for that to happen.
Liz met Mike while working at USAA. They married in 1977, spent 7/7/77 in Las Vegas for a honeymoon and eventually moved to their home on Sun Trail in the neighborhood of North Central Thousand Oaks. In retirement, Liz continued her volunteer activities as a mentor in USAA's Thousand Lights Program, different roles in the Unicorn society, advocate for children's rights and a member of the St Mark's Catholic Church Altar Society. In retirement, Liz and Mike traveled the world not to mention all the various cassinos that they both dearly loved.
As Liz's physical needs increased, they had the good fortune to meet Maria Baltazar. Mike and Liz could not have enjoyed the last years without Maria. Maria and Liz could not be trusted together without getting into sweet mischief. Maria was both a mother and BFF to Liz. Liz's spirit took a piece of Maria to join her in eternal rest. God bless Maria and sincere wishes for happiness in the years to come.
Liz and Mike together enjoyed a full life with all the experiences togetherness brings. For those who did not get to know Liz, the hope is that you know or have such a person in your life who brings such joy.
We pray for Liz to rest in peace, understand how much she was loved and appreciated. Thank you, Liz, for being part of all of our lives. We will love and miss you dearly.
The family will be receiving guests on Friday, June 13, 2025, at 6:00 PM at Porter Loring North Chapel followed by a rosary at 7:00pm.
A funeral mass will take place on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at 10:00 AM at The Chapel of the Incarnate Word (4503 Broadway, San Antonio, Texas 78209).
