She was a loving mother, grandmother, and loyal friend. A graduate of Vanderbilt University, she was a registered nurse and a career military wife, spending many years in England, Japan, and around the United States. She enjoyed sewing, crafts, bowling, and was an avid animal lover. Her favorite hobby was her grandchildren that loved their MeeMaw dearly.
She was a wonderful caretaker to her husband, Col. James M. King, prior to his death on the same date, February 28 of 2003. Mrs. King was a two time cancer survivor, finally losing her courageous battle with emphysema.
She is survived by her son, Jay King and wife Vanessa; daughter, Elizabeth Rodgers and husband Tony; daughter, Mary K. King; son, Michael C. King and wife Karen; son Christopher P. King; and grandchildren, Brittany, Irelyn, Courtney, Kyle, Cody, Alex and Colin.
She will be greatly missed by her loving family, friends, and her dog Daisy.
