She is survived by her son, her daughter-in-law, two grandchildren, two sisters, one brother, two brothers-in-law, one sister-in-law, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Liz's life was filled with flowers, art, poetry, music and infinite hope that life on earth is a temporary stop in our journey to His house in heaven. The illness that took her life never changed her beautiful spirit. She passed away with courage and grace and the certainty that she will be with our Lord forever.
Liz was a true patriot with a career dedicated to military and government service. Through her military service, she was instrumental in helping bridge the gap for the successful integration of female Soldiers into the United States Army. Liz had an illustrious career and touched so many along the way in a professional manner.
Her endurance is testimony that her faith in the Lord resulted in many miracles. She enjoyed creating art and sharing her talents with family and friends. The only complaint she had was that there was such little time to paint, to sculpt, to garden, to take beautiful and spectacular photographs, and to design exquisite jewelry. We are blessed that she shared her talents with us.
The family thanks Dr. James Mark and Dr. Joaquin Mira and their staffs for all the wonderful medical care and dedication in helping Liz through her illness over the past decade. Also the family would like to express their thanks and appreciation to Gentiva Hospice for their care.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 30, 2014, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
