

Elizabeth Aldridge Parks passed into eternal life on Monday, April 10, 2006 at the age of 92. She was born on July 11, 1913 to Elizabeth Armstrong Aldridge and Charles Clark Aldridge. The Armstrongs and the Aldridges were two of the first families in Plano, TX. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years, Ernest Henry Parks; daughter, Bettie Lu Parks Rice; grandsons, Richard Ernest Rice and Jerald Russell Fenn.
She was a Music Major at SMU where she was initiated into Chi Omega in 1931, later elected President of the Dallas Chi Omega Alumni Association. Elizabeth and Ernest moved to San Antonio in 1954, and quickly became active in many charitable organizations.
A long time member of Trinity Baptist Church, and later a Founding Member of the Fellowship of San Antonio, she was truly devoted to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. A talented pianist and artist, she was a true lady in every sense of the word.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Parks Fenn; grandchildren Amanda Parks Fenn; Dr. Gretchen Gabbert; Gwen Baird and husband, Mark; David Rice, Elizabeth Rice Schur and husband, Larry; great-grandchildren, Lillie and Charlie Baird; Brittany and Jeremy Schur; sister, Louise Aldridge Scaling; sisters-in-law, Frances Parks Rain and husband, Talbot of Dallas; and Elaine Parks Holcomb and many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by special people whom she considered family and loved unconditionally, Charles and Marion Jeffers; Charles and Mary Ann Franzke; and Pam Embrey.
There are many more of you, and you know in your hearts how much she loved you dearly. She will be missed by many, and will live in our hearts forever.
