

She died peacefully in her home and was united with her Lord May 6, 2005.
She was third in a family of eight: 6 girls and 2 boys. She went to high school and 4 years of college at East Texas University and North Texas University. Elizabeth at an early age aspired to be a teacher and taught school for several years before marrying C.M. Phillips. She loved to ponder and memorize poetry and was an avid reader. She especially loved to study, read and teach God's word. She was extremely active in church throughout her life and was a dearly loved member of Northside Church of Christ in San Antonio, TX.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.M. Phillips and 2 sons, Philip Joe Phillips and Michael Alder Phillips.
Her survivors include her daughter-in-law, Carole Phillips of San Antonio, four grand children, Mark Phillips of San Antonio, Phyllis Risinger of Terrell, TX, Sandra Figari of Beaumont, TX, Kevin Phillips of Cleburne, TX and 11 great grandchildren. Other survivors include: brother and sister-in-law Dr. B.B. and Juanita Phillips, sister-in-law Doodi Phillips and numerous nieces and nephews.
Up until the last day, Elizabeth continued to touch the lives of everyone around her with the cheerful and witty personality she was known for. Her courageous outlook on life will continue to be an inspiration to us all. Special thanks are extended to all of her compassionate care givers from Vitas Hospice and Right at Home.
