Elizabeth Audress Horbach Strockbine

She was born on October 7, 1919 in Locust Dale, PA, and lived most of her life in Ashland, PA where she enjoyed a 35-year career as a seamstress. In 2003, she moved to San Antonio, TX to live with her daughter and family.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, William E. Strockbine; her parents, Leroy and Jenny Horbach; and 5 brothers and one sister. She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Martha Horbach of Kulpmount, PA, and Hannah Horbach and Edna Calvert of Ashland, PA; daughter and son-in-law Darlene and James Gallagher of San Antonio, TX; 3 grandsons, James Gallagher and wife Lisa, Jeffrey Gallagher and wife Laura, and Kevin Gallagher and wife Cynthia; and 6 great-grandchildren, Sean, Evan, Megan, Jamie, Jack and Ryann; and many nieces and nephews.

Moving to Texas in 2003 was a blessing in that it provided her a greater opportunity to share in the lives of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was a member of The Evangelical Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd where she was a faithful member of the women's group and the altar guild. She attended Abiding Presence Lutheran Church while living in San Antonio, TX.
