

Elton was preceded in death by his parents, Noah Perkins and Norma Perkins.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Hannelore Perkins; his daughter, Angelina Oncken; his grandson, Noah Oncken; his brothers, Dwight Perkins (Debbie) and William Perkins; as well as many other cherished family members and friends.
Elton proudly served his country for 29 years in the United States Army, retiring with the rank of Master Sergeant (E-8). Following his military career, he continued his dedication to service by working for AAFES for 20 years before retiring. His commitment, discipline, and work ethic were hallmarks of his professional life.
Outside of work, Elton found joy in restoring and admiring old cars, working with horses, traveling, and tending to his garden. These passions reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship, nature, and the simple pleasures of life.
Elton will be remembered most for his unwavering dedication to his family and friends, his kindness, his sense of humor, and his deep compassion for others. He touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of love, service, and integrity.
A graveside service will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, located at 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas, 78209. The service will take place in Shelter #5 on February 6, 2026, from 10:45 am to 11:15 am.
