We will forever cherish the memories of Johnny — a loving father, teacher, and guiding force in our lives. Johnny proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1953 to 1957, earning honors including the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal, and United Nations Service Medal. As a Sergeant and Rifle Marksman Instructor, he not only taught many of us how to shoot, but instilled in us discipline, respect, and responsibility—lessons that extended far beyond the range.
After his service, Johnny devoted 45 years to Holt Caterpillar Company, building a life through hard work, dedication, and quiet strength. In retirement, he found his greatest peace at the ranch in Cotulla, where he could often be found on his beloved Caterpillar tractors, doing what he loved most.
Johnny was the kind of man who could fix anything—but more importantly, he helped shape and steady the lives of those around him. His wisdom, patience, and steady presence were gifts we will carry with us always. We will miss his guidance, his stories, and the comfort of knowing he was always there. Though our hearts are heavy, we are forever grateful—for his love, his lessons, and the strength he gave us to face whatever comes next.
