Ernestine Martinez Rodriguez

Ernestine Martinez Rodriguez of San Antonio, Texas entered eternal rest on June 15, 2024; she was 88 years old. Ernestine was a strong women who held her Catholic faith close to her at all times. Mr. and Mrs. Rodriguez we active members of the Shriners between 1980s and 1990s. Mrs. Rodriguez would often dress up and entertain the children in the hospital or bringing joy to the children during local parades. She spent time singing in the choir at San Juan de los Lagos and mariachis. She loved singing and dancing and we will miss hearing her beautiful voice singing all her favorite songs at our family gatherings and especially on our birthdays.

Mrs. Rodriguez is preceded in death by her parents Julian Martinez and Isabel Echavarria Martinez; her beloved husband Robert Richie Rodriguez; her sister Yolanda Estrada; her brothers Paul Martinez, Ernesto Martinez, Gilbert Martinez, Arturo Martinez; her grandchildren Ernestina Leal and Martin Leal Jr.

She will be missed by her children Jesse Valdez, Rosemarie Penuelaz (Daniel), Stephan Rodriguez (Betty), Julian Valdez (Cecilia), Vangie Carrillo, Carrie Rios. She will also be missed by her sister Carrie Robledo, her numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who she loved dearly and friends Margie and Gilbert amongst others.

Our family would like to give special thanks to our niece Jennifer Valdez and Maricela Martinez for their love and compassion showed while caring for Mrs. Rodriguez during her last days of life.
