Esperanza T. Rivera

Esperanza T. Rivera, born in San Antonio, Texas on August 22, 1923 entered eternal life Friday, October 5, 2001. She was a 1942 Sidney Lanier High School graduate. A very devoted and dedicated housewife, she was also very outgoing and always with a very lovely smile. Mrs. Rivera was a true Catholic, always supporting her Holy Family Parish. Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Tony C. Rivera; sister, Estela T. Rodriguez and her husband, Kino; brother-in-law, Rex Medders of Mt. Vernon, IL; sister-in-law, Rosa R. Sanchez, San Antonio; 3 aunts; numerous nieces and nephews; and special lifetime close friend, Julia R. Tabares. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to our beloved nephew, Richard B. Prado and his wife, Mary Ann, for their endless loving care to Mrs. Rivera before her illness and also during her illness before passing away. Also to Mrs. Patricia Rodriguez and family for their special loving care, patience and dedication in taking care of Mrs. Rivera for the past 2 years. A very special thanks to the local Alzheimer's Association staff for their help and support during Mrs. Rivera's illness. Mr. Rivera extends his most sincere thanks and gratitude to the local VITAS Hospice staff for their patience and loving care to Mrs. Rivera during her terminal illness.
