Estefana L. Tamez

Estefana Tamez was born on September 19, 1943 in San Antonio, Texas. She was called to the Lord's heavenly garden on December 4, 2024. She passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by the comforting embrace of her family. Estefana is preceded in death by her parents, Catalina and Pilar Luna. She is survived by her brother, Herman Luna and his wife Sylvia; her husband, Raymond; her two sons, Raymundo and Alejandro; her daughters-in-law, Corinna and Sandy; her three grandchildren, Jade, Alexander, and Luna; and her two great granddaughters, Ava and Leilani.

Estefana was an avid reader, a home childcare owner and loving wife and mother to her husband and sons. She especially loved spending time reading her Bible. She truly embodied the fruits of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, and gentleness (Galatians 5:22). Her passion for gardening was evident to all who visited her home. Her attention to detail and call to excellence in her garden was a reflection of her belief in the joy and beauty in the world that is given to us by God.

In her work as a childcare provider, Estefana cultivated her gift of encouragement and her calling to teach and care for children. She genuinely had a heart for every child she cared for and possessed an innate ability to sympathize with each one’s unique needs.

Estefana's life was filled with purpose and joy. She lived a life that honored Christ, her Savior, and shared the Gospel in her words and deeds to all who would listen even in her final days (2 Timothy 4:7).

The family will receive guests from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Porter Loring Mortuary.
