

Estelle H. O. Lee, age 95, passed away peacefully at home and went to be with our Lord on March 1, 2022, in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in Mexico City, Mexico on August 8, 1926, to Thaddeus J. and Anna V. Ostrewich. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Lee; her parents; and her siblings, Alicia, Lillian, Joe and Ted. Estelle is survived by her sons, Thaddeus L. Lee and Patrick D. Lee; her daughters, Estelle Ann Van Joolen and Mary Margaret Dissette; her brother, Edwin Ostrewich; 13 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren, one great great grandchild, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends.
Estelle was accomplished in sewing, needlepoint, crocheting, knitting, gardening, and was a superb cook as well. Estelle was a world traveler, enjoying vacations in exotic places all over Europe. Estelle lived in Africa, Abu Dhabi, and London, spending the last years of her life in San Antonio with her brother Edwin. Estelle took pride in the many years she volunteered at Methodist Hospital as a special thank you for the special care her husband Bob received in his final days.
Affectionately known as Gigi, she loved her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren dearly, embracing every opportunity to spend time with them. In the last few years of her life, she enjoyed the love and time she spent with her great, great niece, Lillian Foster. Estelle had an extraordinary gift with children.
The family would like to extend their deepest gratitude to Araceli Guerrero, caregiver, for her care and companionship over the past several years, as well as Misty Burton, RN, her loving hospice nurse, Beatrice Delejia, her hospice caregiver, and thanks to the entire team at Elegant Hospice of San Antonio. A special thank you goes to her loving brother, Edwin Ostrewich whom Estelle lived with for the past 40 years.
Estelle will always be remembered for her kindness and generosity and will be greatly missed.
