Esther M. Diaz

Esther M. Diaz, age 85, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2014. She was born in Austin, TX on March 7, 1929 to her parents, Miguel Medellin Garcia and Esther Davila Medellin and then raised in Monterrey, Mexico.

Esther was employed at General Electric until 1962. Following her marriage on March 8, 1963 to Ralph, she owned and operated her own child care facility out of her home until her own children graduated from college.

She enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking for her family and raising children. Esther was very devoted to her family and her faith and was a devout Catholic.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her one and only beloved husband of 39 years, Ralph Diaz; brother, Samuel Medellin Davila; and sister, Maria de Refugio Medellin. Esther is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth Aarts and her husband, Rob; her son, Richard Diaz; granddaughter, Caitlin Aarts; siblings, Magdalena Villarreal and husband, Rodolfo, Miguel Medellin Davila and wife, Enriqueta, Maria Concepcion Gonzales and husband, George, and Geraldo Medellin Davila and wife, Antonia; and her cousin and best friend, Irene Gonzalez.
