

He was preceded in death by his mother Alejandra Garza. Eugene is survived by his wife of 20 years, Linda Garza. Fur babies: Bailey, Bug, Bear, and Rocket; father, Pedro Garza; stepmom, Clara Garza; sister, Aracelia Garza Mendoza; stepbrothers, Jose G Morales (Erica), Juan Morales Guerrero, and Gustavo Morales Guerrero; mother-in-law, Mary Rodarte, and father-in-law, Luis Rodarte. Godchildren, Brooke Rosales, Stephen Diaz, and Adonis Vasquez as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He graduated from Southwest Texas University in 2001 with a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice with a minor in sociology and worked as a Certified Community Supervision officer. He was also certified as Office DPS Coordinator, and Certified Safety Training officer. He also became a Fourth Degree Knight with Holy Trinity Catholic Church and was involved with Mens and Teen ACTS with St. Francis Cabrini Catholic Church.
Eugene’s hobbies included his love for BBQing for family and friends and would join BBQ competitions with his team ‘The Barrell Boys’, where he placed in several categories. He was always the life of the party making alcoholic beverages for everyone and making sure everyone ate his delicious BBQ. In his peaceful time, he would enjoy his love for cigars and Bourbon. Eugene loved to travel the world and explore new sights with his wife and close friends. Eugene will always be remembered for his kind heart and willingness to help.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Bulverde Area Humane Society - Powered by Volunteers | Welcome (bulverdeareahumanesociety.com), where Eugene and his wife adopted their fur babies and always wanted to make sure the animals were well taken care of.
A visitation for Eugene will be held Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232 with a vigil & rosary at 7:00 PM. A funeral service will take place Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, at Sunset North Funeral Home with a funeral procession to follow for interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 17501 Nacogdoches Rd, San Antonio, TX 78266.
