Eugene "Gene" Granato

Eugene Dennis Granato (Gene) went to meet his savior on October 11, 2022 at the age of 79 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on July 10, 1943 in San Antonio Texas. He was preceded in death by his Parents Daniel and Lillian Granato. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years Nancy Granato, and daughter, Marie Antoinete Granato-Philips and son, Vincent Sean Granato. He is also survived by his sister Christine (Esli) Matta and brother Daniel (Belinda) Granato.

Eugene proudly served in the US navy for approximately 10 years, which included 3 tours in Vietnam. He was a proud graduate of the University of Texas of San Antonio. He held several sales positions before entering into retirement over a decade ago. Gene was an avid fisherman and a great cook, he enjoyed cooking Italian dishes. Gene will be greatly missed by his family, but is resting after a long battle with multiple diseases.

Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Road, San Antonio, Texas 78238 on Wednesday, November 16, 2022 from 6:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a rosary at 7:00 P.M. The funeral procession will depart Sunset Northwest Funeral Home at 9:30 A.M. on Thursday, November 17, 2022, for a 10:00 A.M. funeral mass at San Francesco Di Paola Catholic church with interment to follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery with U.S. Navy honors.
