Eusebio Mejia, age 97, passed away peacefully on December 29, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born to beloved parents Santiago & Tomasa Mejia on August 14, 1928 in Taft, Texas. He went to school at Fox Tech and graduated in 1946, where he then enlisted to the United States Air Force. There, he served 6 years and was assigned to Frankfurt Military Post in Germany, one of his favorite places he’s ever been to, and was honorably discharged on April 22nd, 1954. Soon after, he received a mechanics certification in 1959 and spent 33 years of service as a Federal Employee, working on aeronautic mechanics, a truly crowning achievement, at Kelly AFB as an Air Logistics crewman, and retiring happily on April 8, 1993. He owned a grocery store by the name of “Alazan Grocery Store”. He was also a Master with Boy Scouts of America at Christ the King Parish Troop 67 and the Drum & Bugle Core, something he was always proud of and not afraid to let others know. He was a Holy Cross High School Booster Club member from 1969 to 1973, always giving them the most support when he could.
When not at work, he could be seen watching the Dallas Cowboys, the San Antonio Spurs, Houston Astros, or the Texas Longhorns play. He also loved to play Tejano music, easily turning a simple family visit into a small party.
Eusebio is preceded in passing by loving wife, Lucia G. Mejia.
No matter who knew him, everyone knew one thing. He always put his children first and made all sorts of sacrifices to ensure they had good education, a roof over their heads, and his love in their hearts.
He is survived in passing by children, Orlando Mejia (wife, Maria Elena Mejia), Patricia M. Casillas (husband, Fred Casillas), Dr. Marco Mejia (wife, Genny Mejia), Lucia M. Flores, Anna M. Galan (husband Hector Galan), & Eusebio Mejia Jr.; grandchildren, Leonardo Hernandez, Lore’ Casillas, Fred Casillas Jr., Sidney Mejia, Sam Mejia, Celestina Flores (husband Steven Castro), Frances Flores-Fuentes (husband, Adrian Fuentes), Alfred Paul Flores Jr., Mark E. Villa II (wife, Katherine L. Villa), Kirk A. Villa (wife, Stacie Villa), Dayna L. Breazeale (husband, Jeffery S. Breazeale), & Coen Mejia; along with 22 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
Eusebio was a man who always gave his heart out to others without expecting it in return. A man called from God to help those in need, and a man taken back home for doing such a good job.
