
Eva Lois Cook Pollard died the 9th of January, 2003 at her home of the last ten years, The Forum at Lincoln Heights, San Antonio, Texas. She was 103 years of age, having been born in Hughes Springs, Texas, October the 9th, 1899. She is survived by a sister, a son and daughter, five grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren and nephews and nieces. Her descendants are distributed around the world in Seattle, Connecticut, Philadelphia, Paris and Lyon, France, Atlanta, Georgia, Senegol, West Africa, Japan and Texas. She received her BA Degree from Baylor University and later Masters Degree from Stephen F. Austin. She was married to Charles Oscar Pollard Deceased who was Superintendent of Schools in Henderson, Texas where she taught and was a counselor. Various honors and achievements marked her career. They moved to Tyler, Texas in 1955 where she lived until her move to San Antonio. They enjoyed a summer home in Little Switzerland, North Carolina until 1976, when her husband died. Until 1999, her 100th birthday, she continued to enjoy her summers "on the mountain" with dear friends in that region. The facts of her life given above do not approach the delights she brought to the lives of her family and great number of friends she collected in each place she has lived.
