Evan D. Carroll

Evan D. Carroll entered into eternal rest on July 10, 2023 in San Antonio, Texas surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 13, 1959 in Kinsley, Kansas to Oscar Carroll Jr. and Joyce Bidleman. Though Kansas and later Texas will always be home, Chardon Ohio held a very special place in his heart as the hometown of his true love. The family and friends that he gained from his beautiful marriage to Elizabeth brought a welcoming extended family and group of friends that only amplified his.

Evan loved the time he spent with family and friends, continuing to keep in touch with classmates from Stroman High in Victoria, TX, to the online friendships he created in the groups he followed. Evan also enjoyed the quiet time at home watching football or Nascar especially Chase Elliot. He was an avid history buff and that passion lead to some amazing travels to castles in Scotland and England, the battle of Gettysburg and other civil war era landmarks. Evan also had a deep love for riding horses, going on trail rides and attending rodeos, it was a passion he shared with his family.

Evan worked hard in the aviation industry for 48 years, ultimately becoming a Senior Operations Manager, his hard work and dedication will be greatly missed.

Evan leaves behind his most cherished gift, his family. His loving wife Elizabeth Carroll, daughter Kacie Carroll, and grandson Sutton Pierdolla. His brothers Monty (Chris) Carroll & Alan Carroll, his nieces and nephews Holly Moore, Monty Carroll Jr., Lori Bruns, Brian Bruns, Rich & Mary Gillenwater and Shannon Gillenwater. His uncle Doyle Carroll and aunt Alice Carroll and cousins Kevin & Candi Carroll, Reid & Michelle Carroll, Brian & Brenda Carroll, Shaunna & Mark Bernard and David Carroll. Evan will also continue to hold a special places in the hearts of his extended family; his in laws and the wonderful family and friends that Elizabeth brought into his life.

Evan has now reunited with his mother Joyce Horne, father Oscar Carroll (Junior), his brother Dion Carroll and sister in law Judy Carroll.

A visitation for Evan will be held Sunday, July 16, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232.
