Evangelina R. Vallejo was born in 1929 in San Antonio, Texas, to her loving parents, Rafael Ramos and Juanita Martinez Ramos. Growing up in the downtown area, she attended Lanier High School and was a devoted member of San Fernando Cathedral, where she nurtured her strong faith.
In 1948, she married Eduardo O. Vallejo, who had just returned home from serving in the U.S. Navy. They were united in marriage at the Basilica of the National Shrine of the Little Flower in San Antonio. Evangelina and Eduardo shared a long and joyful life together, celebrating 67 wonderful years of marriage.
Together, they raised four children: Edward A. Vallejo, Evelyn Jean Tinoco, Ralph Leo Vallejo, and Elizabeth (Lisa) Pharis. Evangelina was the heart and soul of her family — a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, godmother, and a cherished friend to all who knew her.
She was known for her warm smile, impeccable style, and generous heart. Her kitchen was always open, and she never let anyone leave hungry. She loved entertaining and made everyone feel welcome in her home.
Evangelina was also a passionate sports fan, always cheering on her beloved San Antonio Spurs and Dallas Cowboys. She found joy in dancing, traveling, visiting museums, camping, and fishing along the Texas coast.
She was greatly loved and will be missed. We find comfort in knowing she is now reunited with her beloved Eduardo and surrounded by the family and friends she grew up with.
