Evelyn W. Affleck

"Prissy", as she was known by her friends and family, was born January 29, 1916 in San Antonio, Texas.

Prissy treasured her family, friends and home life above all.

She resided to the end in the home she loved for 58 years.

She was married to Frederick Llewellyn Thomson, Jr., and together they raised five children, spending many happy times at the family ranch she enjoyed as a girl.

She hosted many Thanksgivings, Easters and other events at the ranch over the years; it was one of her favorite spots on this earth. Fred preceded her in death in 1969, after a long illness. Several years later she married Harry Sinclair Affleck, Sr., who shared her love of travel. They had many good years together before he passed away in 1989. Prissy had a valiant and indomitable spirit.

Her life was characterized by quiet generosity. She valued integrity, common sense and self-discipline; all of which she possessed in great measure. She was a plumb line for her family, a rock to stand on. She was a rare human being.

Prissy loved her mother and father very much and honored them all her life, even long after they were gone.

She was preceded in death by her parents, R.L. White and Ethel Smyth White; her brothers, R.L. White, Jr., John H. White and sister, Joella White Bitter; also her youngest son, Edmond Bryant Thomson and grandson, Stephen Brent Wilde, Jr.

She is survived by four of her children, Frederick L. Thomson, III, wife, Susie; Trisha Thomson Chilcutt, husband, Ben; Ethel Thomson Runion; Elizabeth Thomson Wilde; and her sister-in-law, Dela Wright White. She is also survived by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Elizabeth Thomson Hetrick, husband, Jeff and son, Wesley Boone; F.L. Derick Thomson IV; Heather Chilcutt Sanders, husband, Michael and son, Zane Eli; Paige Chilcutt Craig, husband Tim and daughter, Taylor Addison; Addie Chilcutt Kerr, husband Byron; Megan Toland Chilcutt; Robert Whitthorne Runion, wife, Annette and son, Alex; David Llewellyn Runion; Lara Elizabeth Wilde; Christopher Smyth Wilde and Jennifer Jane Wilde; step-children, Harry S. Affleck, Jr., wife, Linda, son, Harry Affleck III, daughter, Linda Affleck Stewart, husband, Drew and their two children, Marguerite and Drew Stewart; Ethel Affleck Johnson, husband, Johnny Clay and son, Henry Clay Johnson. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

The family wants to thank the wonderful team of caregivers who have tended to Prissy's needs over the years: Rosie Gutierrez, Esther Ross deceased, Irene Carillo and her sister, Dolores, Onfalia Rivera, Carmen Morin, Beverly Ellis, Gloria Hernandez and Charisse Miera.
