Feliciano "Chano" Mendoza Garcia passed away at the age of 72 at his home in San Antonio, TX. After several days of loved ones coming to say their farewells and to thank him for touching their lives, he waited for his family to leave the room, with his steadfast wife by his side, he took his last breaths and went to be with our Lord in Heaven just after midnight early Friday morning, May 20, 2016.
Chanito, as some friends would call him, had been fighting a long battle with Diabetes, Massive Stroke, Heart Disease and Kidney Failure. For more than 18 years after his stroke, and with mobility only on his left side, a man who used to be right hand dominant, did not only live, he continued to fight and thrive. After years of fighting and pushing the limits of his health and physical abilities, this man's body could no longer sustain this man's thunderous spirit.
Born on January 19, 1944, he was one of six children born to the late Porfirio Garcia and Josephina Mendoza Garcia and was the beloved husband of Maria Luisa Esparza Garcia for 53 years. Feliciano and Maria Luisa were married on August 26, 1962. Married, he continued to work hard to provide for his wife and growing family. He worked for a local concrete construction company earning $3/hour digging ditches with a pick and a shovel. Determined to provide a better life for his family, with the support of his wife, he left his secure job to start his own successful construction company in 1972, F.M. Garcia Concrete Construction Co. To this day, after 44 years, F.M. Garcia Concrete Construction Co. is still the foundation of the family business.
Feliciano will forever be remembered by his devoted brothers Luis and Jimmy Garcia, loving sisters Gloria Garcia Bustos and Rosa Garcia Parks. Feliciano will also be reunited in heaven with late sister Juanita Garcia Olivarez. He will be deeply missed by his beloved children Adrian Esparza Garcia and spouse Jacqueline Rascon Garcia, Rene Esparza Garcia and spouse Roxanne Ramirez Garcia and Roland Esparza Garcia and spouse Elizabeth Cuellar Garcia. He will also be sorely missed by his treasured grandchildren Felix Daniel Rascon Garcia and spouse Laura Sanchez Garcia, Adrian Steven Rascon Garcia and spouse Briana Collazo Garcia, Angelica Marisa Rascon Garcia, Sarah Alyssa Ramirez Garcia, Felix Michael Ramirez Garcia, Danielle and Ariana Cuellar Garcia, great grandchildren Audriana Collazo Garcia and Adrian Steven Collazo Garcia II, along with caring in-laws and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to have known him.
