

Fern was born August 17, 1906 in Barry County, Missouri to Curtis and Susie Robinson. She had three sisters, Fay Martindale, Pearl Robinson and Ruth Sanders.
She grew up in Oklahoma after travelling in a covered wagon from New Mexico where the family had lived for two years.
At age 19, she taught school in Oklahoma for ten years in the Porter and Muskogee areas including a one room schoolhouse where she rode a horse to the school every day.
In 1946, she moved to San Antonio, where she worked for Sears in the Credit Department until her retirement.
In 1965, she married Dan Groh, who preceded her in death at the age of 100.
She is survived by a step-son, Danny Groh of Houston; favorite grandson, Steve Groh and wife, Barbara of Ohio; great nephew, Curtis Gimlin and wife, Carol of Oklahoma; great nephew, Steven Gimlin of Oklahoma; great niece, Leslie and husband, Pat Day of Rockport.
A remarkable woman ahead of her time, Fern left her impression on all those she touched ~ she will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Friday, November 11th from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M. at Porter Loring on McCullough.
