

Known as Virginia to her friends and Mom and Grandma to her family, she was a strong believer in God, family and friendship.
She devoted her life to supporting her husband as he helped build Aggregate Plant Products Co., a successful concrete plant manufacturing business APPCO; to counseling and advising her family in times of need; to supporting her church; and to enjoying the friendship of her many, many friends.
Virginia was born in Santa Fe, New Mexico on September 19, 1913. She graduated from Main Avenue High School in San Antonio, Texas and received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Incarnate Word College.
She taught elementary school for several years before marrying her husband.
Virginia was a gifted musician. She was a member of the Tuesday Musical Club and played in Piano Duos from many years. She loved attending the symphony and was a big supporter of the San Antonio Symphony.
She was a long-standing member of the Kum Dubblers Sunday School Class of Alamo Heights United Methodist Church and a loyal and staunch supporter of the Alamo Heights United Methodist Church.
Virginia was a dedicated supporter and member of many charitable organizations, such as the Assistance League, PEO, DAR, Garden Club and many others.
She and her husband, who graduated from Texas A&M, were loyal and long-time supporters of A&M University.
She was predeceased by her husband, George W. Cox. Virginia is survived by two sons and their wives, George and Mariann Cox and Robert and Laura Cox; eight grandchildren, Joni Maness and her husband, John; Shana Fitzgerald and her husband, Aaron; Jana Minor and her husband, Dave; Melissa Hopper and her husband, Eric; Jack Bates, Andrew Cox, Spencer Cox and Evan Cox; eleven great grandchildren, Garrett Maness, Donovan Fitzgerald, Ryan, Ashtin and Emily Minor, Hayden and Westin Hopper, Justin and Jacob Bates, Aaron Minor and his wife, Jennifer; Jacob Minor and his wife, Laura; and many many dear and loyal friends.
She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed. Her enthusiasm and zest for life influenced everyone she came into contact with.
