Forrest Joseph Whichard, III

Forrest Joseph Whichard III, age 65, passed away on Saturday, April 27, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born on June 13, 1958, in Meridian, Mississippi, to parents, Shirley Lewis Whichard and Forrest Joseph Whichard, Jr.

Forrest graduated from Southeastern Louisiana University with Master’s Degree in Business and Accounting. He had a long, successful career in finance, serving as a Chief Financial Officer. He worked for numerous health systems throughout the United States, including Byrd Hospital, Doctors Hospital at Deer Creek, Val Verde Regional Medical Center, Ochsner Health System, Great Falls Clinic Hospital and Amita/Ascencion. Forrest touched many lives, always willing to help his colleagues as well as gracing them with his Cajun home cooking. Forrest had many interests, but his passion was movies and cooking. Anyone that met Forrest, who was sure to soon be a friend, would be engaged in animated conversation about movies, film and actors. He enjoyed all genres, but his favorite being film noir.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Shirley Lewis Whichard and Forrest Joseph Whichard, Jr. Forrest is survived by his loving wife, Cindy M. Whichard; children, Forrest Joseph Whichard IV, Corey Whichard, Mathew Whichard, Thomas Joseph Whichard, and Isabella Gridley; his sister, Sandy Berthelsen; two grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024, at Porter Loring Mortuary West (located near SeaWorld).
