Frances E. Garcia

Frances E. Garcia, born to Lee and Dora Flores in San Antonio, TX January 24, 1917, passed away at the age of 95 on Saturday, February 18, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, Salo Garcia; sister, Dora Chavez and brothers, Lee and Henry Flores.

Frances attended Hillcrest Elementary and graduated from Breckenridge High School. She was physically active enjoying swimming and playing softball in her youth, and dancing with Salo and walking with the North Star Mall Shopping Center "Mallies" later in life.

Frances' life centered on her husband, daughters Doralee and Patty, extended family, friends, and church.

She was a very compassionate person. Frances taught sewing at St. Leo's Catholic Church. She also loved her pets and caring for her plants.

Frances is survived by Doralee Castillo and husband, Efrain of Burleson, TX; Patty Frederick and husband, Dick of Alexandria, VA; grandson, Robert Castillo of Dallas, TX; granddaughters: Kim Girouard and husband, Jim of Raleigh, NC, Kelly Discount and husband, Jon of Arlington, VA; great grandchildren: Josh, Kiele, Jake and Elijah; brother, Eddie Flores of San Antonio as well as numerous nephews and nieces.

The family extends their sincere appreciation to Mary Butler, Rose Elizondo, and Christus Hospice Team 2 for the loving care provided to Frances.

There will be a chapel visitation at Porter Loring Mortuary on Thursday, February 23rd from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M.
