Francis John Bloomingdale Sr.

John Bloomingdale Sr., 68, of San Antonio, TX passed away on January 9, 2021. He was born on January 4, 1953 to Frank F. Bloomindale and Betty Jo Phillips. He married his high school sweetheart Leticia Perales and they were married for 45 loving years and raised 5 sons. John attended St. John Berchmans' Catholic School as well as graduating from Burbank High School. He was a hard worker his whole life working in the paint and body work industry for over 40 years. John was a quiet but passionate man, he enjoyed fishing and most importantly spending time with his family. He was a good husband and a good father.

He was preceded in death by parents Frank F. Bloomingdale and Theresa Kenny; father-in-law Patricio Perales; and his nephew Alfred B. Cortinas.

He is survived by his wife Leticia Bloomingdale; sons Ruben De La Pena, John Bloomingdale Jr. (Crystal), Patrick Bloomingdale (Victoria), Robert Bloomingdale, and Adam Bloomingdale (Stephanie); sister Therese Bloomingdale Garza; nephew/godson Jacob Garza; mother-in-law Catalina Perales; sisters-in-law Linda Pierce and Patricia Sterling (Larry); grandchildren Randal De La Pena, Kesley De La Pena, Noah Felan, Evan Wu, Catalina Bloomingdale, and Cooper Bloomingdale; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A rosary and mass will be held Friday, January 29, 2021 at 9:30 AM at St Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church, 236 Petaluma Blvd, San Antonio, TX 78221. Inurnment is to follow at San Fernando Cemetery III, 1735 Cupples Rd, San Antonio, TX 78226.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Lawrence the Martyr Catholic Church.
