

On August 14, 2023, after a brief illness, Frank Russell Alexander went peacefully to be with the Lord. Frank was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 7, 1947. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marion Hamilton Fraser, and his father, Frank Russell Harmer. Surviving Frank are his former wife Sudi Ware Alexander, his daughters Kimberly Ware Alexander-Rodriguez (Richard), Lettie Alexander Vellano (Mike), grandchildren Mia and Ruthie Vellano, siblings Jim (Mary) Alexander, Bill Fraser, Terry Isbel, numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Frank was born and raised in Alamo Heights where he was a lifelong resident. He attended Alamo Heights Independent School District schools, where he made everlasting friendships. After high school, Frank was honored to have served as a United States Marine, which included two tours of active duty in Vietnam. During this time, he was wounded in battle and received the Purple Heart award among other accolades for his service.
Frank wore many hats professionally, from real estate and insurance to restaurants and construction. For the last five years, Frank has been a valued member of the Vortex family. His work ethic, kindness, and dedication will always be remembered.
Frank was a friend to many and a stranger to no one. His proudest accomplishments were his two children and his two granddaughters, where he excelled at being Gdad.
The family thanks the doctors and staff at the Metropolitan Methodist Emergency Room and the Intensive Care Units for their compassionate care of Frank.
