Frederick B Bible, age 78 Passed away November 17, 2021 in San Antonio, TX. He was born in San Antonio, TX on October 16, 1943 to Norman & Lucille Bible. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and friend. Fred was a kind and compassionate Christian man who was known for his ability to fix anything. He would routinely offer help to anybody in need without a second thought. This quality was at the core of whom he was and made him a great mentor, leader, and father. Fred’s reputation always preceded him and his presence commanded attention and respect from those that knew him.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Norman Orville (Lucille Pendley) Bible, his sister, Lucretia Elizabeth Bible Byars, and his Brother John Bunyan Bible. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica Leigh Bible, his son, Frederick Brownie Bible Jr., daughter- in-law Velma Bible, his granddaughter, Zoe Gabrielle Bible, his great granddaughter, Ariel Renee Martinez, his great grandson, Elijah Martinez, his former wife, Pamela K Bible. His dear friend Ann Chandler came into Fred’s life in November 1995. In doing so, he accepted three more sons Bradley Chandler, Steve Chandler, and Joshua Chandler who considered him as a father and ten additional grandchildren. Fred and Ann were always side by side in faith, family, projects, and travel.
Fred graduated from Robert E. Lee High School and then went on to earn bachelor's degree in Business Administration, minoring in Theology, and a Bachelors of Arts in Finance & Economics from Baylor University. After he graduated college he applied for Officer Candidate School. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lt through the US Army Engineer OCS where he served as Executive Officer, Maintenance Officer, and leader of 4 platoons in Germany. He was later promoted to Captain and served at Cam Rahn Bay Support Staff, Vietnam. He received a Bronze Star during his time in Vietnam. Fred was instrumental in the final closing of the base at Cam Rahn Bay, which completed the U.S. withdrawal at the end of the Vietnam War. He later received the Army Commendation Medal while serving his final duty station in Fort Hood. When Fred left the military he continued to serve his country. He joined DoD as an Air Force civilian employee in 1975. As a Civilian he represented the Air force & DoD in numerous DoD and joint services meetings on systems integrations/interface projects, policies, and planning. In August of 1983 he was selected as the Air Force nominee to the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense, Supply Management Professional Enhancement Program. As a proud Texan and staunch patriot, Fred’s service did not end with retirement. He became active in politics, first as a member of the San Antonio Tea Party then as a member of the Republican Party. In 2015 he served as a member of the Texas delegation to the Republican National Convention.
